Nourish New Haven

Nourish New Haven, the local food justice and sustainability conference with Greater-Yale and Greater-New Haven partners, took place at Yale Divinity School on September 19-20, 2014.

 

Details for the next Nourish New Haven conference and related projects throughout the year will become available by August 2015.

 

The conference and related events educate participants around pressing food issues, connect academic and grassroots efforts, and cultivate ongoing relationships for strengthening our local community.

Informing and inspiring, Nourish New Haven 2014  began Friday evening and ended with Saturday’s community lunch. The program included keynote speakers Fred Bahnson of the Food, Faith, and Religious Leadership Initiative and Pashon Murray of Detroit Dirt and Ford’s “Upside” commercial. Keynote panels and breakout sessions included local, national, and academic leaders speaking about food-related work in restorative justice, faith-based liturgies and responses, youth and education, policy and advocacy, food insecurity, climate change, sustainable food systems, factory farming, agrarian ethics, community growing through city gardens and urban agriculture, and community health and wellness.
